GDC Meeting #8



Graphic Design Club
Meeting #8

5:30pm – 7:30pm
Main Points:

1.    Discussed going on Allegra Printing tour April 13th at 3pm
·      Will be open to other classes outside of the club.
2.    Discussed the Bake Sale scheduled for April 18th and 19th
·      Wednesday 12:15 – 3pm / John
·      Gino will make and bring food and Monet possibly also
3.    Discussed having the workshop
·      Will cost potentially $3,000 / $75 dollars a person.
o   $1,000 travel, $1,500 seminar (full-day), $500 speech (1.5 hours)
4.    Discussed the Portfolio Review (post-mortem)
·      How could we improve for next time?
o   Need a way to address multiple pieces of work within the form (make the form better)
o   Have an orientation/kickoff/prep
o   Better food
o   Need more space and more of a setup
o   Sign-up slots for people to sign on posters when they are posted (email as well) which will help with logistics
o   Better/ more standardized process
o   Email/marketing info captured
o   Feedback form
o   More facebook marketing (include images in statuses for people to click on and share) 2 weeks prior to
o   Start a Tumblr for images
o   Benefit for sharing/spreading the word (free critique!)
·      Other incentives?
o   Initiate a raffle (club swag, t-shirt, buttons, hats, etc.)
