GDC Meeting #3

Graphic Design Club
Meeting #3
11-18-2011
5:00pm – 6:15pm
Main Points:

1.    Discussed other options in order to make money for the club because holiday cards wouldn’t make much profit.
·      T-shirt designs (minimal color usage would be best)
·      Consider appropriate placement of your design on the shirt and recognize “trends” that would sell. For example: designs that reach from the back of a t-shirt to the front.
·      Consider sizes of t-shirts and those who may have to special order a size that isn’t available.
·      Keep prices in mind and what would realistically sell to people. ($10-$25)

2.    Discussed concerns for the bake sale.
·      It would be best not to claim that anything that is made is gluten or allergen free because the club does not want to be responsible for any issues that could arise if one of these allergens were accidentally added.

3.    Talked about the identity of the club
·      As a group, used a collective group of words to describe the club.
·      Start sketching logos for the club. This is a website of a helpful website for inspiration: www.logopond.com. Logos will be discussed further during the next meeting.

Miscellaneous fun things:
Thanks to Gino for bringing in snacks for everyone!

This is the mind map that was put together during the meeting.
